Adobe had been prioritizing Mac performance ever since it’s founders were making software in their garages in California with apple’s early staff decades ago. ![]() I know final cut pro is well suitable for mac’s but so is adobe’s. Learning after effects wasn’t bad either, you’ll find soooo many amazing tutorials for all adobe apps, better than apple’s. Literally, the software not only felt exactly like what FCP 7 did, but even its user interface looked exactly like what Apple would’ve done to it if it took the evolutionary approach to FCP with it’s sleek black interface and tools, rather than try to “revolutionize” it. With that I’ll make those feelings into a simple statement: ADOBE PREMIERE FEELS EXACTLY LIKE FINAL CUT PRO 8! Adobe premiere and after effects NAILED that feeling that me and other long time FCP users grew accustomed too. ![]() I tried out adobe’s suite (to be honest I pirated it at first to test it out since I wanted a quick option lol) and absolutely fell in love. Adobe took note of the pissed off professionals and pulled a slick move by discounting premiere and it’s complimentary software dramatically to convince FCP users to make the jump. And to add more they really even further wanted to go this “casual” direction and stopped updating their Mac Pro line as often as instead offered more entry level offerings to further appeal to the casual market, they completely changed direction. They wanted to sell to every amatur/enthusiast that they can.Īnd Apple did just that but doing all that I mentioned above to water things down to appeal to that market, as well as slashing the price dramatically to $299 to appeal to that market even more. Adobe was well aware of so many professional users feeling the disgust that Apple turned it’s premiere suite into “iMovie Pro” to appeal to iMovie users looking to take the next leap forward as well as a non intimidating looking software for those looking to get into video editing, as this was the absolutely most crucial time for video editng software companies, because this was known as the video creator BOOM of 2012/2013, when youtube was truly taking off into its mass market appeal and being a youtuber as a career was a viable full time employment option and as an entertainment replacement, and also this was the exact same time that live streaming was truly taking off so these companies were about to experience the biggest jump in sales and largest market opening they’ve ever experienced. ![]() When FCP X came out I absolutey fuckinghated everything about it, the way it looked the way it felt the way it worked and just everything about it. I edited videos for myself, 4 youtubers friends as well as began doing it professionally for 3 marketing agencies in town on a very often basis, it was all due to Final Cut Pro + photoshop + motion in conjunction with one another. Anyways premiere and Sony Vegas was the hot shit video editors of the day for consumers as the higher end options were not as accessible and appealing to the mass market,īut I wanted to ignore the mass market options and immediately dropped over behind the scenes footage of Hollywood using Final Cut Pro 7, it was incredible and video editing became an obsession for me with it’s extreamly user friendly interface and overall polish that it gave me. So I began my video editing journey way back in 2006/2007 and that was with my purchase of my first MacBook, the black standard MacBook. ![]() I’m gonna give you a full on take as well as a history lesson (from my perspective of course)! And will be writing a lot because I’m just sitting at work waiting for my Uber which is 20 minutes away LOL so I’m gonna go full on an elaborate as much as I can.
